King Mengrai Statue

King Mengrai Statue

After getting lost yesterday (three years ago today), and finding our way back to the hotel, we were feeling more confident about walking to see two “attractions”. The first would be the Hilltribe Museum and Education Center followed by the statue of King Mengrai who established the Lanna Kingdom .

Our two sites ended up having two more things to see. Since we got to the museum too early we went back to a park nearby that had been a former prison. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around taking pictures there. The other thing we saw was in the same building as the museum, it’s a restaurant called Cabbages and Condoms. No, that is not a typo. The museum’s store sells merchandise for the restaurant, including t-shirts, which I had to get.

The statue, and the park where it is located, proved to be enjoyable and I felt happy to have been there, walking around and enjoying the scenery.

Thanks to the “magic” of technology, and Google Maps, you can look around the area of the statue.
