Sleepy Time Seal

Sleepy Time

In June of 2009 we took the RV up to Hearst San Simeon State Park for four days of camping. On one of the day a friend of ours came by and picked us up, drove us to a place to eat and then we all went to the San Simeon Rookery to look at the Elephant Seals. What is nice is the wooden boardwalk that they’ve built so that you don’t disturb the seals but you can still get a nice view of them. My 12x optical zoom did a good job of bringing this sleeping young one close, though I did crop out some of the sand and part of its body.
