Black-crowned Night-Heron

Black-crowned Night-Heron (Juvenile)

At Rancho Simi Community Park they have a pretty cool “duck pond” with a wide variety of birds that visit. I’m not that good with bird names, but of the ones I know, I’ve seen: Canadian Geese, mallards, ducks, herons, egrets and these young black-crowned night-herons. I had to look this one up on whatbird.com. I’ve also seen this bird in Thailand at Tweechol Botanic Gardens.
