Weekly Photo Challenge: Street Life

This week’s photo challenge has us “document the movement (or stillness) of a street: tell a story with your snapshot, capture a scene that reveals a bit about a place, or simply show us where you live — or a path you often take.”

I’m not really into street photography, I prefer nature, but on my two trips to Thailand I did give it a try. Here are five photos for this challenge. (click on an image for a larger view and description)

Coming around the bend on Kotchasan Rd, in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Starbucks is behind and to the left (out of view in this shot)

On Sunday Nights, in Chiang Mai, Thailand, at the Tha Phae Gate and on Rachadamnoen Rd in old town they close down the street for a night market.

Not sure how many Thai eat here, maybe it’s for the Westerners on vacation.

Massage upstairs with a McDonald’s and Subway downstairs. Tuk tuks, songthaew and metered taxi wait for patrons.

East and West of the clock tower on Thanon Baanpa Pragarn Road, in Chiang Rai, Thailand, you will see these ornate light poles.
